Quadrophenia is a double album by the British rock band The Who, released in 1973. The album was primarily written by Pete Townshend and tells the story of a young mod named Jimmy and his struggles with youth culture, family issues, and mental illness.
The Quadrophenia vinyl release came packaged as a gatefold sleeve with a 44-page booklet that includes lyrics, photos, and a story summary. The vinyl itself was pressed on two 12-inch records and includes 17 tracks spread across four "themes."
The album was well received critically and commercially, and has since become a classic rock staple. The vinyl release remains popular with collectors and fans alike, often commanding high prices on the secondary market. In recent years, there have been several reissues of the Quadrophenia vinyl, including remastered versions and limited-edition pressings.
